About the role

Serving more than 10,000 Georgians, River Edge continues to be one of the state's leading resources for mental health, substance use disorder treatments and supports as well as individuals with intellectual and development disabilities. River Edge offers outpatient services at our Emery Highway-Macon, Monroe County and Baldwin County locations. Outpatient services include behavioral health, nursing, and psychiatric assessment, stabilization and medication maintenance services as well as crisis intervention services as well as awareness, education and recovery groups.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in instructing and advising individuals on daily living skills in one-on-one or group settings.
  • Observe, document, and monitor client behavior in Motivity.
  • Ensure that direct support staff (DSP) and registered behavioral technicians (RBT) complete documentation as assigned.
  • Counsel individuals on behavioral issues, basic decision-making, and minor problem resolution.
  • Provide personal care to individuals on the unit as needed.
  • Conduct rounds every 30 minutes to ensure individuals’ schedules are being followed or prompted, including active treatment, hygiene, and proper care of clothing.
  • Prepare meals and snacks, including special diets, for individuals.
  • Provide transportation for individuals to off-unit appointments or activities as needed.
  • Remind DSPs and RBTs to check emails at least once per shift.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent required, or a score of 75 or above on the TOFHLA.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to successfully complete basic training courses such as CPR, First Aid, and others as required.
  • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
  • Must have knowledge of patient behavior observation, client assistance techniques, individualized service plans, and documentation procedures.
  • Must demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate effective conflict resolution skills.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred but not required.

  • Must be able to lift 16 – 20 pounds whenever needed.
