Responsibilities
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers to patients in the home.
- Regularly assess and record patients’ vital signs to monitor stability and identify any changes that may indicate a decline in condition.
- Auxiliary in providing personal care needs to individuals in the home.
- Treatment and dressing of wounds, injuries, and other physical health concerns that may arise during a crisis.
- Crisis management and de-escalation support, utilizing clinical knowledge and training to support patients in distress.
- Closely collaborate with the BCBA and other healthcare professionals, including physicians, psychologists, social workers, and nursing staff, to provide coordinated and comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, including assessments, interventions, treatments, and outcomes, in accordance with legal and ethical documentation standards.
- Comply with all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff within the home.
- Perform housekeeping duties such as washing clothes/dishes, dusting, running errands, wiping baseboards, sweeping, mopping, and related tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Current Georgia license to practice as a licensed practical nurse.
- At least 1 year working in behavioral health/ intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) or related field.
- Good computer skills.
- Communications skills and the ability to foster good relationships among others is a plus.
