Cytotechnologist

Job Responsibilities

  • Examine gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides under a microscope to identify infections, abnormal cells, and signs of disease
  • Assist clinicians with Rapid On-Site Evaluations (ROSE) during diagnostic procedures
  • Accurately document slide screenings and maintain required CLIA records
  • Ensure proper specimen identification and maintain specimen integrity throughout testing
  • Enter and report test results in the laboratory information system (LIS)
  • Protect patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA guidelines
  • Follow all laboratory policies and comply with CLIA, CAP, CMS, and other regulatory requirements
  • Participate in annual proficiency testing and ongoing quality assurance programs

Job Requirements

  • Meet CLIA requirements (CFR. 493. 1483)
  • Experience with FNA adequacy procedures required
  • Liquid-based cytology training/certification (Thin Prep preferred)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in clinical lab, physical, or biological science
  • Meet ASCP requirements for Cytotechnologist

Pay and Schedule

  • Pay Rate: $45 - $55/hr. on W2
  • Shift: Mon-Fri 8 am-4:30 pm
  • Duration: 3+ months
