About the Role

Responsible for the operation of the Child and Youth Services (CYS) Technology Lab in accordance with applicable regulations. Creates a positive environment in the CYS Technology Lab that includes appropriate materials and supplies to supplement computer software programs and Internet access.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities for program participants.
• Provides supervision, oversight, and accountability for program participants.
• Ensures computer, peripherals, and software are maintained in good condition and working order.
• Troubleshoots CYS hardware, printers, scanners, servers, and software.
• Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques.
• Promotes and role models safety, fitness, health, and nutrition practices.
• Trains children/youth in the use of equipment and software programs.
• Ensures assigned area achieves and maintains standards for DoD/Army certification and national accreditation or Army equivalent.
• Works with computers, peripherals, software, and common hand and electrical tools.

Requirements

• Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• A one-year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, including a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
• Must have a current health assessment documenting good mental and physical health, freedom from communicable disease, and immunizations IAW current Army and DoD policy, including annual influenza vaccinations.
• Satisfactory performance, successful completion of training requirements (transition and/or annual), and demonstrated on-the-job competency are required.
• Ability to communicate in English (verbal and written).
• Possess and maintain the ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.
• Possess knowledge and demonstrated skill in Microsoft Windows and applications using the Internet (email, searching, web page design) and network computing.
• Possess a professional certificate or higher related to computer science/information technology, or 24 months of experience working in the related field.
