Cylinder Requalifier
About the role
We are hiring a Cylinder Requalifier in Ankeny, IA. The position involves general assistance in the plant, including painting cylinders, valve/de-valve cylinders, and handling cylinders. The Cylinder Requalifier may operate a forklift.
Responsibilities
- Paints cylinders and performs valve/de-valve operations.
- Moves and handles cylinders within the plant, including loading trucks.
- Sorts empty cylinders by type.
- Checks for cylinder quantities, styles, and product.
- Loads items onto trucks for delivery based on customer orders.
- Performs basic cylinder maintenance tasks.
- Maintains personal safety and ensures a safe work environment.
- Punctually complies with hourly work schedules.
- Interacts with other department employees.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Willingness to learn about cylinder tank hazards.
- Ability to safely operate a forklift.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
- Capacity to lift 25 to 75 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
- Skills in frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions.
- Ability to climb, balance, kneel, push/pull, and tighten ratchet binders.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior experience operating a forklift and pallet jack.
