About the Role

A critical member of the team, the Cycling Specialist balances a passion for people and excellence in retail. As the front line and point person for our store, you will work directly with riders—both in-person and remote—as a host, mentor, brand advocate, and customer service expert. Your role is to identify and locate the goods, services, and experiences needed to provide quick and seamless solutions, keeping riders on the road longer and riding better. You’ll deliver locally authentic, inclusive, transformative, and ride-focused interactions that enhance rider satisfaction and help meet sales and profitability goals.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver world-class rider service that ensures ongoing sales and high levels of rider satisfaction.
  • Connect with riders by asking questions, listening to their needs, and providing tailored options and advice.
  • Inspire riders to make purchases, celebrate their decisions, and create a lasting positive impression of Specialized and the buying experience.
  • Provide transformative, inclusive, ride-focused, and locally authentic experiences for both staff and riders, aligned with the Specialized Retail Way.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards, restock products, and ensure presentation areas remain clean and organized.
  • Uphold general cleanliness standards from store opening to close, including light janitorial duties.
  • Stay current on product features using company literature, resources, and available training.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Requirements

  • Passion for cycling and the Specialized brand.
  • Bike shop experience preferred.
  • Current or former retail experience with 1+ years preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with riders and team members.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, with occasional walking, kneeling, or reaching.
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs. or more using proper lifting techniques.
