This role involves researching, designing, developing, testing, and supporting new systems, applications, and solutions for enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks.
Responsibilities
- Establish and manage documentation to maintain RMF compliance and approval for an established DoD program.
- Install, configure, maintain, and document software information security products at multiple sites to assess system and application security.
- Develop reports and complete forms to capture security-related status, including incident reports, vulnerability assessments, and standard configuration reports.
- Assist in responding to security incidents and disaster recovery events through investigations, planning, exercises, and report generation.
- Research, recommend, and implement procedural changes to protect data from future violations.
- Conduct internal and external security scans and assessments with a focus on network, system, and application security.
- Collaborate with operations and software development teams on remediation requirements.
- Work with application development and release management teams to integrate security controls into the software development lifecycle.
- Monitor security websites, vendor alerts, and other channels to evaluate emerging exploits.
- Schedule patching or other remediation efforts with the Operations team.
- Evaluate and assess compliance with information assurance policies and regulations.
- Conduct and document risk and threat assessments, recommending countermeasures.
- Stay abreast of emerging security technologies and recommend their implementation.
- Participate in projects as a security subject matter expert to ensure timely delivery of critical information security infrastructure.
- Maintain effective communication, both verbal and written, with heavy documentation requirements.
- Assist in educating users on security procedures.
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Sec+ / IAT Level II Certification.
