This role is responsible for researching, designing, developing, testing, and supporting new systems, applications, and solutions for enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks. You will apply computer science, network engineering, and other cyber physical engineering disciplines to design, develop, integrate, and support solutions that identify, exploit, protect against, or mitigate cyber security vulnerabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage documentation to maintain good standing of an established DoD program requiring RMF compliance and approval.
  • Install, configure, maintain, and document software information security products at multiple sites to assess system and application security.
  • Develop reports and complete forms to capture the security-related status of systems, including incident reports, vulnerability assessments, and standard configuration reports.
  • Assist in responding to security incidents and disaster recovery events by conducting investigations, planning, exercises, and report generation.
  • Research, recommend, and implement procedural changes to protect data from future violations.
  • Conduct internal and external security scans and assessments with a strong understanding of network, system, and application security.
  • Work with operations and software development teams on remediation requirements.
  • Collaborate with application development and release management teams to integrate strong security controls into the software development lifecycle.
  • Monitor security websites, vendor alert mailing lists, and other information channels to evaluate emerging exploits; work with the Operations team to schedule patching or other remediation efforts.
  • Evaluate and assess compliance with established information assurance policies and regulations; conduct and document risk and threat assessments.
  • Recommend countermeasures and prepare required documentation; coordinate with senior engineers.
  • Stay current with emerging security technologies and recommend their implementation.
  • Participate in projects as a security subject matter expert and technical expert to ensure timely delivery of critical information security infrastructure.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to meet heavy documentation requirements for this project.
  • Assist in educating users on security procedures.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Sec+ / IAT Level II Certification.
