Cybersecurity Project Manager

This is a 12-month contract role located in Columbus, OH, with the potential for extensions. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship. A hybrid schedule is required: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday on-site. Local candidates only.

Pay

$53.00 - $63.00/hr (W2 contract). ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. No PTO or benefits provided.

Responsibilities

• Guide cross-functional cybersecurity teams using Agile and waterfall methodologies to achieve cybersecurity objectives.
• Lead project planning, stakeholder communication, and risk mitigation efforts while maintaining a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles.
• Foster collaboration and align project goals with security requirements to deliver secure solutions on time and within budget.
• Manage full project lifecycles using Agile, Waterfall, or Iterative methods.
• Produce deliverables including Project Charters, Solution Design Documents (SDDs), Technical Documentation, Agile readiness checklists, UAT approvals, deployment plans, and change management artifacts (e.g., stakeholder assessments and adoption strategies).
• Contribute to project management processes to facilitate statement of work development and vendor progress management.
• Perform core project management activities: risk, issue, decision, dependency, status reporting, demand, budgeting, forecasting, variance explanations, and capacity management.
• Manage financials, including capital versus O&M spend forecasting, budgeting, and accruals.
• Facilitate collaboration across multiple functions, departments, and levels, serving as a role model for teamwork.
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills, including making effective project presentations and communicating technical concepts to non-technical clients.
• Apply knowledge of project management and SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Iterative, Agile) and tools (ServiceNow, PowerBI, Jira).

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a project management role with leadership across IT and business functions.
• Experience managing large, complex projects with a combination of internal/external and labor/non-labor cost components.
• Extensive knowledge of project management best practices, including Waterfall, Agile, and SDLC methodologies and tools.
• Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to coach, develop, and lead a diverse project team (IT and Business).
• Proven ability to engage and develop relationships with executive sponsors and key stakeholders.
• Experience with project cost management and resource capacity planning.
• Strong business process analysis and mapping skills.
• Experience implementing change management approaches to support projects.
• Indirect management experience, including assisting in the development, training, and assignment of work/projects to team members.
• Familiarity with the Energy Industry is a plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience demonstrating technical project management and leadership.
• 4 hours of PMM training prior to assuming the role.
• 20 hours of ongoing professional training per year.
• Project management certification (PMP) is required.
• Agile certification (e.g., PSM, PSPO) is a plus.
• ITIL v3 or v4 certification is a plus.

Skills

• Moderate understanding of core cybersecurity principles.
• Experience with Archer tool, policy and standard management, compliance and risk assessments, and issue/exception tracking (preferred but not required).
