Cybersecurity Information Systems Security Officer
About the role
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Cybersecurity Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to support critical Department of Defense (DoD) missions while working alongside a team of experienced cybersecurity professionals. As the ISSO, you will serve as the primary cybersecurity advisor for assigned information systems, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of mission-critical systems and data.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), cybersecurity, cyber engineering, and information assurance
- Provide technical guidance and actionable recommendations to senior leadership to support cybersecurity objectives and mission success
- Communicate complex technical and security concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Identify cybersecurity risks, vulnerabilities, and compliance issues, implementing proactive solutions to minimize operational impact
- Support the implementation, assessment, and maintenance of RMF security controls throughout the system lifecycle
- Collaborate with program management, engineering, and cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with DoD security policies and mission requirements
- Support government and industry program activities, including occasional travel to customer and contractor locations as required
- Work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment while contributing to continuous process improvement and mission success
Requirements
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility; must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and successfully complete a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph as a condition of employment
- 10+ years of Department of Defense (DoD) experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, or information systems security
- 4+ years of experience supporting Special Access Program (SAP) and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environments within the past five years
- 1+ year of experience implementing and supporting DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) security controls, cybersecurity policies, and compliance requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
Qualifications
- Master's degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, MIS, Engineering, or a related field
- SecurityX / CASP+, equivalent or higher to meet DoDM 8140.03
- Relevant professional experience and industry certifications may be substituted for a bachelor's degree, as applicable
Skills
Experience with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), cybersecurity, cyber engineering, and information assurance. Ability to communicate complex technical and security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Pay
USD $140,000.00 - USD $155,000.00 /Yr.
Physical Requirements
- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen
- Must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner
- May include lifting up to thirty pounds, as necessary
