About Guideship
Guideship is a nonprofit workforce development organization dedicated to creating career pathways for underserved communities through mentorship, internships, apprenticeships, workforce readiness training, and cybersecurity education. Over the past three years, our affiliated workforce development initiatives have invested more than $700,000 to develop and mature a nationally recognized Cybersecurity Apprenticeship Program. The program has become one of Maryland's leading cybersecurity apprenticeship models, serving individuals from underserved communities and helping graduates launch careers in technology and cybersecurity.
Description
The Cybersecurity Industry Chair provides strategic leadership regarding cybersecurity workforce development, employer engagement, apprenticeship opportunities, industry trends, and professional mentoring. The Chair helps ensure that Guideship's programs remain aligned with current and future workforce needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise the Board regarding cybersecurity workforce trends.
- Support development of apprenticeship and internship opportunities.
- Recruit mentors and industry volunteers.
- Facilitate employer and industry partnerships.
- Promote Guideship within the cybersecurity community.
- Support fundraising and sponsorship efforts.
- Aid in program evaluation and workforce outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or former CISO, cybersecurity executive, technology leader, or senior cybersecurity professional.
- Experience leading cybersecurity teams or programs.
- Strong industry network.
- Commitment to workforce development and mentoring.
