Cybersecurity Engineer - Full-Time

On-site at NSWC Dahlgren, supporting Navy combat systems through RMF Assessment & Authorization, continuous monitoring, and security testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain RMF A&A packages for DoD systems.
• Author DoD Cybersecurity artifacts (e.g., SSP, SAR, POA&M).
• Document systems using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Visio).
• Apply DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and NSA security recommendations.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and lead security test events.
• Serve as Information System Security Officer (ISSO) for security-related matters.
• Develop risk-mitigation plans and support cybersecurity policy development for Navy combat systems.
• Execute continuous monitoring and system testing to ensure ongoing security compliance.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of security engineering experience with Navy tactical systems or 5 years of general security engineering experience.
• Understanding of DoD cybersecurity policies, system specifications, and communication protocols.
• Preferred certifications: CASP, Security+, or CISSP.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or related field preferred.

Pay

$100,000 – $156,000 per year.
