About the role

As a Cyber Systems Security Engineer, you will join the Syracuse, NY System Security Team, supporting international and domestic programs. This role focuses on protecting sensitive information and systems while engaging with customers, auditors, and executives to address technical concerns and ensure program success.

Responsibilities

  • Develop solutions to protect sensitive information and systems.
  • Lead technical planning, verification, evaluation, and analysis of critical program information, cost, and risk.
  • Support capture efforts and future capabilities to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Coordinate and execute test events both internally and externally.
  • Engage with internal and external customers and auditors to address technical concerns and resolve issues.
  • Communicate effectively with program personnel, executives, and government officials.
  • Develop and coordinate test strategies, plans, procedures, and reports across programs to ensure thorough validation and program success.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable and relevant cybersecurity engineering or systems administration experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Linux or Windows-based systems.
  • Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II Certification or higher (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or CISSP).
  • Ability to obtain a Secret DoD security clearance prior to starting this position (U.S. citizenship required).
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience.

Desired Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Tenable Security Center, Tenable Nessus, or Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) administration experience.
  • ACAS scanning experience.
  • Trellix and Endpoint Security Solution (ESS) administration and monitoring.
  • SolarWinds tools experience.
  • Linux/Red Hat or Windows OS certifications.
  • Experience with Windows Active Directory and Group Policy maintenance.
  • Familiarity with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
  • Troubleshooting as a systems administrator.
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with a team.
  • Critical thinking skills to provide solutions to technical problems of moderate scope and complexity.

Non-represented full-time employees accrue at least 10 hours of PTO per month and receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full-time employees accrue 6.67 hours of vacation per month, up to 52 hours of sick leave annually, and receive at least 96 hours for holidays.

Pay

The annual base salary range for this position is:

  • $82,900 - $146,165 for most locations in California, Massachusetts, New York (excluding major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington, or Washington D.C.
  • $95,300 - $165,255 for most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York.

Salary is determined by factors including scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education/training, key skills, and market considerations.

Schedule

  • Full-time, onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
  • 4x10-hour days, with 3 days off per week.
