About the role

Lyntris is seeking a fast-learning Cyber Security Engineer II to provide Risk Management Framework (RMF) assessment and authorization (A&A) support for Navy-focused software solutions. Day-to-day efforts include working with highly-talented professionals and subject matter experts to design, implement, and monitor cyber security and information assurance policies for mission-critical software systems used by US Navy warfighters. Additionally, provide technical guidance to the software development team throughout review, evaluation, and remediation of security scan results.

This position requires an active U.S. national security clearance. Hybrid and onsite options are available.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and support cybersecurity standards including NIST and Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) standards as identified by NIST SP 800-37 and associated documentation.
  • Develop system IA documentation to support RMF accreditation through the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS), such as:
    • System Categorization Forms
    • Security Plans
    • Hardware/Software/Information Flow Diagrams
    • Security Assessment Plans (SAP)
    • System Level Continuous Monitoring Plans
    • Risk Assessment Reports and Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM)
  • Support successful accreditations: ATO (Initial and Reauthorizations) and Interim Authorization to Test (IATT).
  • Work with systems owners, government managers, and other stakeholders to manage cybersecurity requirements and continuously improve overall cyber posture across the program.

Requirements

  • Currently holds an active U.S. national security clearance or be able to receive and maintain one.
  • 2-3 years Department of Navy (DoN) accreditation experience.
  • U.S. citizenship is required to qualify for and maintain a U.S. government personnel security clearance (PCL).

Qualifications

  • Experience with continuous ATOs (cATOs).
  • Experience as a Navy Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO).
  • Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level 3 Certified.
  • Certified as a Navy Qualified Validator (NQV) – Minimum Level I.

Pay

The pay range for this role is $130,000 - $155,000 USD per year (San Diego, CA).
