Cyber Security Engineer II

About the role

This position is hybrid 3 days per week in the following US offices: Atlanta, GA, Cincinnati, OH, or Denver, CO. Candidates must be a US Citizen or valid Green Card Holder; this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Explain detected software vulnerabilities and recommend remediation options.
• Build security awareness by highlighting active exploits and assessing urgency levels.
• Align solutions with PCI, SOC, GDPR, CCPA, and cloud security best practices.
• Communicate security concerns and design options to business stakeholders.
• Promote controls to secure software throughout the lifecycle, from the developer’s sandbox through to production.
• Use coding skills to create reference implementations for security patterns (e.g., authentication, encryption).
• Conduct Threat Modeling exercises using industry-standard methodologies (e.g., STRIDE).
• Support incident response activities, including pre- and post-incident analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or other related discipline—or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• 5+ years of cyber security experience.
• Experience in product security, software security, and software engineering.
• Experience with Java and/or .NET.
• Experience using DAST, SAST, and SCA tools and services.
• Experience securing APIs, web apps, and WAF protection.

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in authentication and authorization protocols, cryptography, and application security.
• Experience analyzing threats of cloud and application components.
• Payment industry and PCI experience.
• Security+, Network+, or CEH certifications.

Pay

For this full-time position, the good-faith estimated annual salary range upon hire is $79,400.00–$116,975.00. This range reflects what we reasonably expect to offer based on the role’s responsibilities, level, and geographic location. The actual starting salary will be determined by a candidate’s experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Changes in work location may impact the final offered salary.
