Cyber Security Engineer II
About the role
Cyber Security Engineers design, implement, and maintain security systems/services to prevent malicious activity. They serve as a point of escalation for first level engineers. They design and implement projects/services that enhance and improve current security offerings and strategies. They respond to internal and external client requests, including firewall changes, DNS creation/modification, renewing/purchasing SSL certificates, and secure configuration of hosted sites and services. They install and configure firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web application firewalls, and agents in accordance with current industry standards and best practices to create a secure environment and protect customer data. They proactively mitigate threats through active collaboration with the Cybersecurity Analysts. They perform recurring vulnerability mitigation by upgrading device software to a non-affected version, or modifying the current configuration to remediate vulnerabilities. They complete continuing education requirements to maintain an appropriate understanding of the evolving security landscape. They participate in after-hour on-call rotation. They perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Professional level position in described technology
- Three (3) years of relevant experience preferred
Qualifications
- Accredited university, college or trade school education or training in applicable technology
- Advanced degrees or certifications recommended (e.g., CISSP, etc.)
Skills
- Knowledge of current industry standards and best practices for security systems/services
- Ability to design and implement security solutions
- Experience with firewall, intrusion prevention system, and web application firewall configurations
- Proficiency in configuring and managing security tools
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
