About the role
The Cyber Operations Manager will join Optiv Security’s 24x7x365 Security Operations Center as a member of the Advanced Fusion Center (AFC) team. The AFC supports over 40+ clients with custom-tailored security solutions across various industries. The role involves working with three practice teams: Client Engagement, Engineering Operations, and Detection and Response Operations. The manager is responsible for maintaining and expanding customer relationships, resolving customer challenges, and supporting service development and deployment processes.
Responsibilities
- Support key customer-facing activities including on-going relationship building and customer satisfaction-related efforts.
- Collaborate with delivery teams and clients to create plans for achieving engagement objectives.
- Provide constructive feedback and coaching to team members.
- Deliver services based on a thorough understanding of complex cyber security architectures and technology.
- Identify technological developments and evaluate their impact on clients' businesses.
- Manage project management and team leadership, inspiring teamwork and responsibility.
- Create innovative insights for clients and contribute to thought leadership documents.
- Enhance service delivery through frequent interaction with end users and business sponsors.
- Identify process gaps and propose preventive/corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Information Technology, Information Security/Assurance, Engineering, or a similar field.
- 4-7 years of experience in service delivery management.
- 4-7 years of Project Management experience.
- 4-7 years of Information Technology experience.
- Knowledge or expertise in multiple security domains including: IAM/PAM, SIEM, SOAR, EDR, vulnerability management, incident response, and governance.
- Broad knowledge of technology trends, relevance to clients' businesses, and market impacts.
- Superb business acumen, project management expertise, and understanding of the Services organization as a whole.
- Demonstrated ability to create comprehensive assessment reports.
- Ability to work well with customers and self-manage through difficult situations, focusing on client satisfaction.
- Ability to convey complex technical security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including executives.
- Team-oriented and possesses excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Willingness to work both independently and on teams.
- Willingness to lead and mentor others and collaborate with team members.
- Ability to work remotely and travel to meet client needs.
Qualifications
- Must hold or be willing to pursue related professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.
