CNP Program Overview

The MITRE Cyber New Professionals (CNP) Program is designed to support the start of your career in cybersecurity. This program offers a comprehensive set of experiences, skills development, and mentorship opportunities to prepare you for impactful roles in national cybersecurity challenges.

Onboarding

• Learn about MITRE’s culture and organizational units.
• Transition into the corporation with resources.
• Set up for success with tools, best practices, and lessons learned for new rotations.

Project Rotations

• Combine hands-on operational experience with best practices.
• Develop intelligence-enabled solutions.
• Enhance security, safety, and resiliency of critical cyber systems.
• Protect critical infrastructure from malicious cyber or non-kinetic attack or disruption.

Training Opportunities

• Participate in classroom-style and cohort-based training.
• Learn new technical or professional skills.
• Further develop existing ones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Graduate Degree in a domain-relevant field.
• 0-2 years of related experience.
• Experience applying learning outside of the classroom.
• Applied knowledge of cybersecurity principles, tools, and devices.
• Proficiency with scripting and software development languages.
• Knowledge of security across multiple platforms.
• Experience with cyber security tools and frameworks.
• Knowledge of advanced cyber threats and adversary methodologies.
• Proactive and initiative-taking abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.

Clearance Requirements

• None required at hire.
• A minimum of a Top Secret (TS) clearance required within one year from the date of hire.

Salary Compensation Range

• $85,200 - $106,500 - $127,800
