Cyber Data Analytics Engineer

About the Role

The NAVAIR Digital Department, Command Data Officer Team is seeking a Cyber Data Analytics Engineer to work with diverse operational and customer stakeholders to identify, acquire, process, and when necessary, visualize and analyze diverse data sources. The successful candidate will contribute to foundational data assets for the analytics team across mission-critical, high-visibility projects.

Responsibilities

• Work with data engineers and developers to acquire, process, and format data both at source and post-extraction to create analytical products.
• Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to prepare diverse data sources for analytics work.
• Liaise with business and operational stakeholders to understand needs, metrics, and goals, then translate and map user requirements to underlying data sources.
• Develop plans for data extraction and work with data scientists, analysts, architects, and stakeholders to create thorough documentation (e.g., data dictionaries, flow models).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an information technology-related field (Master’s preferred).
• Five (5) years of related experience.
• Thorough working knowledge of at least two analytical programming languages (R, Python, Scala, SQL).
• Working knowledge of code repositories and version control (Git).
• Basic working knowledge of at least one BI/visualization tool (Qlik, Tableau, Power BI).
• Technical and business domain-focused customer experience.
• Security+ certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Active DoD Top Secret Clearance or higher (must pass a background investigation).
• U.S. citizenship required.

Desired Skills

• Experience working with Cybersecurity/RMF.
• Knowledge of advanced analytics principles (statistical modeling, machine learning, AI).
• Experience building, maintaining, or automating dashboards for users.
• Military background a plus.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $100,000.00 – $139,000.00, based on location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements.
