Cx Project Manager (Electrical)

About the role

WSP USA is initiating a search for a full-time Cx Project Manager (Electrical) in our New York office. This role plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. You will successfully complete small to medium projects by organizing and controlling project elements, working closely with Project Managers or Senior Project Field Engineers for technical review and guidance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare basic deliverables and products including calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.
• Evaluate fundamental engineering guidelines, code compliance requirements, and industry standards.
• Examine field conditions as required to support development and completion of projects.
• Assist in the preparation of commissioning specifications and basis of design documents during design and submittal reviews.
• Assist in developing proposals and responses to RFPs for commissioning projects.
• Assist in documentation processes and the development of procedures related to commissioning activities.
• Attend meetings with owners, building managers, and relevant stakeholders to discuss current and future projects.
• Responsible for meeting client project and financial goals and objectives.
• Represent the company professionally in dealings with owners, vendors, design professionals, and contractors.
• Assist in the firm’s human resource efforts through training and mentoring junior members.
• Update job knowledge and technical expertise by participating in educational opportunities, professional publications, technical organizations, certifications, and the firm’s Technical Committee as requested.
• Interstate travel is periodically required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 7 to 10 years of relevant post-education experience in the discipline with prior building and systems commissioning experience.
• Working knowledge of MEP building systems, electrical systems and testing, electrical testing equipment, and electrical commissioning requirements.
• Proficient in 480-Volt electrical systems and operating electrical testing equipment such as power quality meters, circuit breaker test sets, contact/insulation resistance meters, and infrared cameras.
• Experience with 5kV–26kV systems and protection relays is preferred.
• Experience with witnessing and/or executing pre-functional and functional electrical testing.
• Knowledge of NETA electrical testing.
• Experience with Short Circuit/Coordination/Arc Flash Studies.
• Proficiency in SKM or E-Tap software or similar is preferred but not required.
• Good understanding of the architectural, engineering, and construction industry.
• Experience with sustainable design practices or facilities operations is preferred.
• Possess clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and in a highly collaborative team environment.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Experience with Deltek Vision or Project Resource Management software is preferred.

Qualifications

• PE license is preferred, but not required.
• Certifications in areas of expertise are preferred.
• Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP) is preferred.

Pay

Expected Salary: $125,000 – $150,000
