Electrical Project Manager/Engineer

About the role

Fichtner is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as a Project Manager based in Stockport. This role involves managing projects related to renewable energy sources such as solar PV, BESS, wind, energy from waste, hydrogen, and carbon capture.

Responsibilities

• Delivering projects for renewable energy sources
• Managing industrial electrical infrastructure projects
• Assessing and witnessing site and factory acceptance testing
• Maintaining health, safety, and welfare standards in engineering projects
• Coordinating with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs)
• Working autonomously and as part of a team

Requirements

• A good degree in Electrical Engineering
• Chartered Engineer qualification or working towards it
• Experience in renewable projects including solar PV, BESS, wind, energy from waste, hydrogen, and carbon capture
• Knowledge of EHV to LV, embedded generation, protection circuits, UK grid connections, HV and LV switchgear, substations, and coordination with DNOs
• Effective communication skills with both internal and external clients
• Ability to prepare and deliver high-quality technical reports and models
• Ability to assess and monitor construction sites

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in industrial electrical infrastructure and will be familiar with EHV to LV, embedded generation, protection circuits, UK grid connections, HV and LV switchgear, substations, and coordination with UK DNOs. They should also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to manage projects autonomously and as part of a team.
