Key Responsibilities

  • Weld Training & Instruction — Provide hands-on guidance to welders, support new-hire weld tests, and help develop skill-building training modules.

  • Weld Inspection & Verification — Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on welds across various projects.

  • Procedure Compliance — Ensure welding procedures, techniques, and documentation meet AWS, ASME, and customer specifications.

  • NDT Review — Review destructive and non-destructive testing documentation for accuracy and compliance.

  • Technical Support — Provide guidance to welders and production teams on best practices, quality expectations, and corrective actions.

  • Quality Documentation — Maintain detailed inspection reports, weld maps, and traceability records.

  • Continuous Improvement — Identify non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and support follow-up resolution.

  • Safety & Compliance — Ensure all inspections and training activities align with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • A Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) through AWS, or ability to obtain certification.

  • Strong background in welding inspection, fabrication, or weld quality.

  • Solid understanding of welding codes and standards (AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, etc.).

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to teach, coach, and support welders.

  • Proficiency with inspection tools and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Additional NDT certifications (UT, RT, MT, PT).

  • Experience with quality management systems (ISO 9001, AS9100).

  • Prior experience training welders or supporting weld tests.
