Responsibilities
- Prepares and instructs welders to successfully pass weld certifications.
- Instructs welders in the safe operation of support equipment utilized in welding.
- Performs various weld tests and evaluates for compliance to ASME Section VIII guidelines.
- Issues appropriate initial PPE for welding personnel.
- Maintains weld certifications for existing welding personnel.
- Updates and monitors training records as required.
- Maintains consumables for the various welding processes in the training area.
- Affixes employees with process issues or re-trains as necessary to meet quality and/or production goals.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of ASME Code
- Minimum 5 years code welding experience
- Demonstrate skill as an effective instructor
- Ability to work with all levels within the organization
- Familiarity with Microsoft office
