About the Role
Responsible for assisting the Unit Manager in the planning, organizing, and directing of patient care services. Responsibilities include fiscal, human resource, risk management, and operational functions. Contributes to strategic planning and program development. Leadership skills needed include conflict management, negotiation, team building, communication, and coaching/mentoring others. Participates in necessary meetings and represents clinical staff on appropriate committees.
Responsibilities
- Serve as point of contact for processes, products, and functions within service line
- Coordinate onboarding, competencies, and education of staff within service line
- Collaborate with anesthesia, surgeons, vendors, and other units to maximize the utilization of the Operating Room and ensure quality patient care
- Foster transparency, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accountability in area of responsibility
- Optimize resource allocation to support current and potential objectives and initiatives for area of responsibility
- Organize, direct, and staff patient care services within the service line to ensure quality outcomes
- Provide for the integration of patient care services throughout the organization by coordinating with all services to deliver quality patient outcomes
- Manage physician preference cards
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years in perioperative setting with demonstrated leadership skills
- Completion of Registered Nurse associate's degree or Surgical Technology Program
- Computer literacy
- RN or Surgical Tech licensure
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (RN) or Certified Surgical Technologist
- Certified Surgical Technologist preferred
