About the role

This position assists with procedures in the EP/Cardiac Catheterization Lab, including the delivery of non-narcotic medications to EP/Cath Lab medical staff and licensed staff during procedures. Responsibilities include operating and troubleshooting general equipment, scrubbing, procedural hemodynamic monitoring, patient positioning, charging supplies and cases, and collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver quality patient care. The CVT is cross-trained to assist in the EP Lab, Heart Recovery, and non-invasive procedures such as EKG and Stress testing. On-call duties are required, including coverage for Cath Lab, IR, and Vascular as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate radiographic and digital equipment.
• Prepare or assist with patient preparation, provide patient instruction, and assist with patient transportation.
• Assist in procedures as a scrub tech, monitoring tech, or radiologic technologist.
• Ensure sterile techniques and patient safety are maintained.
• Prepare equipment at the start of each day and perform quality controls.
• Ensure radiation safety during procedures, including monitoring staff badge usage and protective equipment.
• Assist with code arrest situations during procedures, including CPR and defibrillation.
• Assist the Director with PI data collection and report generation.
• Maintain department equipment, order inventory for invasive and non-invasive areas, and ensure daily departmental pharmaceutical needs are met.
• Participate in standby and on-call duties.
• Provide coverage for patient care in non-invasive stress testing and the Interventional Unit on a rotational or as-needed basis.
• Maintain professional development and license requirements.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 6 months of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited Cardiovascular Technology college.
• 1 year of cath lab experience.
• 1–2 years of hospital tech experience.
• RCIS, RCES, AART, or CST certification.
