CV Sonographer
Job Summary
The CV Sonographer performs diagnostic cardiovascular examinations per physician orders and according to department protocols. Generates preliminary reports for physician interpretation. Reviews physician reports; charts and charges procedures electronically. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure safe and effective patient care. Effectively interacts with patient and their significant others and family members; while maintaining professional standards. Interacts with Cardiologists and referring physicians according to applicable departmental policies regarding critical findings. Interacts with team leaders and managers to discuss significant findings; clinical situations; workflow status and equipment malfunctions. Often works without direct supervision and must have outstanding work ethics and integrity.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Education: High School Diploma
- Minimum Work Experience: 1 year on the job training or graduate of accredited ultrasound school
- Required Licenses/Certifications:
- RDCS or RCS in adult echo
- RVT or RVS in vascular ultrasound
- CPR Required
Skills; Knowledge; and Abilities
- Perform all cardiovascular ultrasound procedures that are available in Non-Invasive Cardiology
- Master use of all equipment including ultrasound systems; PVR; BP monitors and computer systems
- Attends all required training programs and staff meetings and completes computer based learning lessons
- Must be available for on-call status; as scheduled; after normal operating hours; on weekends and holidays
