About the role

This position is for a Cutting Operator (Weekend) in the cutting department at our Booneville, MS location. The associate will work throughout the department as needed to pull and spread fabric, operate all machines to cut fabric per specifications and established operating procedures, and assist with bundling and tagging cut pieces for further processing. The role ensures departmental goals in safety, service, quality, and cost are met.

Responsibilities

  • Practice safe work habits and adhere to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards throughout the facility.
  • Follow Williams-Sonoma policies while performing duties with a positive attitude and willingness to assist others.
  • Perform daily tasks promptly and with high standards to achieve production goals using documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Collaborate with team members and leadership to maximize productivity while maintaining quality and safety.
  • Communicate openly with departmental leadership to address issues and obstacles.
  • Perform all assigned duties of the cutting operator position at a minimum rate to maintain production efficiency for the sewing department.
  • Ensure tags and tickets are correctly placed on items for accurate inventory tracking.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of cutting experience in an upper-end upholstered furniture manufacturing environment.
  • Good math and reading skills, with strong oral and written communication abilities in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret production tickets and standard operating procedures.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to meet delivery requirements.
  • Strong teamwork, time management, and sense of urgency to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred).
  • Previous leadership experience (preferred).
  • Basic computer skills (preferred).
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) (preferred).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for 12-hour periods and bend/twist at the waist and knees.
  • Frequently lift and pull items weighing 20–25 pounds; occasionally lift up to 60 pounds.
