Cutting Machine Operator

About the role

This position supports the production of high-quality cubicle curtain and tracking systems.

Responsibilities

• Unroll and spread fabric in layers on tables
• Arrange patterns on fabric and mark outlines of patterns
• Set and operate cutting machines
• Label and tie bundles of parts
• Drill holes through layers of fabric or cut notches in edges
• Operate automatic machines that use computerized patterns
• Cut fabric using an electric hand cutter
• Mark and cut cloth and fabric into pieces for trimming
• Perform quality checks of parts after production
• Implement color changes as required
• Clean up scrap produced by molding machines
• Assemble hardware packages for boxed products
• Grind runners and poorly produced parts
• Complete quality checks and related paperwork
• Perform general clean-up of the department at shift end
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Able to take directions and work well as a team or independently
• Strong math aptitude
• Ability to lift 100 lbs.
