Customs Specialist, File Initiation, Billing Coordinator

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Review of Customs documents to be filed with CBP ensuring accuracy.
  • Verify classification and valuation with the importer when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations.
  • Obtain the appropriate documents required to support claims or disclaims.
  • Ensure the proper and timely payment of duties, taxes, or other charges assessed or collected by CBP on merchandise by reason of its importation.
  • Maintain documents required under 19 CFR 163.
  • Monitor and track customs clearances and resolve any delays or issues.
  • Cookordination with internal teams, clients, customs brokers, and government agencies to resolve customs-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
  • Support the development and implementation of customs compliance procedures and policies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Customs brokerage.
  • A U.S. Customs Brokerage License preferred.
  • Certification in customs compliance or a related area preferred.
  • Experience working with a variety of industries and commodities preferred.
