Customs Specialist - Entry Writer

Duties And Responsibilities

• Review of Customs documents to be filed with CBP ensuring accuracy.
• Verify classification and valuation with the importer when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations.
• Absorb and manage Customs entries.
• Maintain documents required under 19 CFR 163.
• Monitor and track customs clearances and resolve any delays or issues.
• Cook up coordination with internal teams, clients, customs brokers, and government agencies to resolve customs-related issues.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
• Support the development and implementation of customs compliance procedures and policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Customs brokerage.
• Preferred Qualifications: U.S. Customs Brokerage License, Certification in customs compliance or a related area, Experience working with a variety of industries and commodities.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of customs regulations, processes, and documentation.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in customs declarations and record-keeping.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Experience with ACE Secure Data Portal.

Language Skills

• Fluent in English (oral and written).

Computer Literacy

• Proficient in using customs management software and systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Pay

Expected base pay range: $29.71 - $37.14 / hourly.
