Duties And Responsibilities
- Review of Customs documents to be filed with CBP ensuring accuracy.
- Verify classification and valuation with the importer when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations.
- Obtain the appropriate documents required to support claims or disclaims.
- Ensure the proper and timely payment of duties, taxes, or other charges assessed or collected by CBP on merchandise by reason of its importation.
- Maintain documents required under 19 CFR 163.
- Monitor and track customs clearances and resolve any delays or issues.
- Cook with internal teams, clients, customs brokers, and government agencies to resolve customs-related issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date knowledge of customs regulations and procedures.
- Attend provided trainings.
- Support the development and implementation of customs compliance procedures and policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Customs brokerage.
- Preferred Qualifications: U.S. Customs Brokerage License, Certification in customs compliance or a related area, Experience working with a variety of industries and commodities.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, processes, and documentation.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in customs declarations and record-keeping.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Experience with ACE Secure Data Portal.
- Fluent in English (oral and written).
- Proficient in using customs management software and systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Pay
Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy. The expected base pay range is $22.50 – $30.50 Hourly.
