Customs Processor

About the role

Metro Customs Brokers, a subsidiary of Omnitrans Inc., is seeking a Customs Brokerage Processor to validate and process commercial documentation for presentation of entry release requests to US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). This role offers a human work environment where collaboration, continuous improvement, and direct impact on the customer experience are prioritized.

Schedule

• Monday to Friday: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
• Tuesday to Saturday: 4:00 pm – 12:00 am

Responsibilities

• Ensure shipment files contain proper documentation such as commercial invoices, packing lists, manifests, PGA documentation, and Free Trade Agreement declarations.
• Review document content to confirm no missing information required for shipment rating (e.g., country of origin, additions, deductions).
• Process requests for missing information and return files to Client Representatives for follow-up.
• Establish the value for duty of shipments, applying valuation adjustments as required.
• Determine suggested Tariff Treatment and identify the proper classification code for each imported good.
• Ensure compliance with all ACE reporting elements.
• Process urgent files and complete daily workflow allocation.
• Support the PAPS call center.
• Perform general clerical duties as necessary.

Requirements

• Completion of a vocational or technical degree.
• At least 3 years of customs brokerage experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Customer service-oriented.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• High level of autonomy and time management skills.
• Strong ability to handle multiple priorities without losing details.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn.
• Accustomed to working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Proficient in MS Office and capable of quickly learning company-specific software.

Pay

Hourly range: $22 – $35. Salary varies based on location, relevant experience, qualifications, and skills.
