Customs Compliance Region Leader - US/CA

Wabtec Corporation is seeking a US/CA Customs Compliance Region Leader to manage and maintain its customs compliance strategy and enterprise standard for entities acting as importer or exporter of record. This role serves as the customs compliance subject matter expert, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with customs laws while supporting business operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead compliance with US and CA customs and trade laws and regulations.
• Operationalize Wabtec’s Customs Compliance Enterprise Standard requirements.
• Establish and maintain local standard work processes aligned with enterprise standards.
• Drive customs compliance program disciplines and integration timelines.
• Ensure responses to customs-related government inquiries.
• Resolve customs compliance issues and address trade compliance challenges in the region.
• Communicate regulatory changes affecting Wabtec business units effectively and timely.
• Conduct customs and trade compliance training as needed.
• Lead and ensure region metric reporting.
• Oversee Customs Broker/Agent and Managed Trade Service providers.
• Collaborate with local and global cross-functional teams to identify, assess, and mitigate customs compliance and operational risks.
• Actively liaise with the Global Customs Leader and local business stakeholders.
• Support trade compliance requirements for customer projects across the US and CA.
• Coach and mentor direct reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) with 9+ years of industry customs compliance experience, including people leadership.
• Licensed Customs Broker or equivalent in-country certification.
• Deep knowledge of US and CA customs, trade, and regulatory requirements for import and export activities.
• Self-directed with strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive results in a matrixed organization.
• Strong problem-solving and process-focused background with a commitment to teamwork, integrity, and accuracy.
• Ability to set goals and manage multiple tasks in a challenging environment.
• Demonstrated program leadership and project management skills.
• Proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel, including some global travel.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $104,800–$149,300. The actual salary offered may vary based on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location.
