Major Areas Of Responsibility
- Partner with the Supply Chain Manager& Global Core team in administering Hexagon’s Customs Compliance Program and monitoring its effectiveness
- Aid in researching, understanding, and communicating trade compliance regulations & standards through the organization to ensure products & processes comply with required dynamic export/import requirements
- Monitor new developments and changes in customs laws, trade agreements, and transportation regulation and communicate this information internally as necessary
- Facilitate the import and export clearance process for Hexagon Mining
- Direct the organization and retention of various customs and compliance records and conduct post-entry reviews to ensure compliance with recording keeping requirements and identify errors in customs declarations
- Qualify country of origin and specific country content value in accordance with the rules of origin and prepare Certificates of Origin or Certification Requests in a timely manner
- Assess Duty draw backs and submit to CBP
- Career a program for calculations of preferential treatment under the Free Trade Agreements and maintain and retain Free Trade Agreement certificates
- Assist the Supply Chain Manager and shipping team with the negotiation(s) of favorable regional contracts and working with them on the monitoring, maintaining, and utilizing of approved carriers.

- Maintain ERP system item master related to COO, HS codes and Schedule B’s
- Liaise with customs broker, CBP, finance, freight forwarders, carriers, couriers, product, and export compliance groups and supporting internal teams on significant issues pertaining to deliveries, duties, clearance, valuation, etc.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to the Customs Compliance Program
Knowledge And Experience
- Required: High School Diploma or bachelor's degree in administration or related field or relevant work experience, 3-5 years of related experience with export and/or import regulatory compliance and international business transactions, HS/HTS classification and shipping documents, Working knowledge of US Customs regulations and procedures, Experience in logistics, preferably with a mix of air/sea/truck on a global level
- Desired: Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) designation or enrollment, Experience with trade compliance information systems, Background in the manufacturing or high-tech Industry, Understanding of the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System and working within the Customs Automated Reference Library (CARL), Lean or Six Sigma certification, Valid driver’s license, Travel
