Customer Support Engineer

About the Role
Works under the supervision of a Manager or Senior Customer Service Engineer (CSE). Primarily responsible for customer service activities associated with updating, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing highly complex capital equipment at customer sites and trade shows. Represents the company to the customer, ensuring operational quality and customer satisfaction. Coordinates actions to minimize equipment downtime and provides technical assistance to Installation Engineers.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot technical equipment problems via telephone or at customer sites.
- Repair and update equipment at customer facilities, addressing system-level problems with multiple causes.
- Assess customer processes for issues such as chemical leaks or contamination and recommend corrective actions, including fab shutdowns if unsafe conditions exist.
- Prepare field service reports on customer support activity and document recurring problems for internal teams.
- Assist in preparing quotes for customers based on labor, travel expenses, and parts needed.
- Provide guidance and technical assistance to Installation Engineers during equipment installations or dismantling.
- Travel to customer facilities by car or commercial transportation.
- Contribute to knowledge capture, reuse, collaboration, and improvement using available systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 0 years of related work experience.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex capital equipment.
- Strong technical knowledge in optics, image processing, or motion control is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
Pay
Base pay range: $23.71 - $40.29 per hour.
