About the role

A Customer Success Manager at Datadog will drive new product attachment and foster strong relationships with existing customers through on-boarding, upselling, and cross-selling. The role involves advocating for customer needs internally and ensuring a positive customer experience. The Customer Success Manager follows a structured methodology to identify customer needs and communicate the value of Datadog’s product.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the sales team to ensure a smooth transition and onboarding experience
  • Proactively build relationships with customers to establish mutual trust
  • Successfully execute the sales cycle for growth opportunities within existing customer accounts
  • Act as an advisor to customers to help them leverage the Datadog solution effectively
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to identify potential renewal risks and promote greater adoption
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal Datadog teams including Support, Product, Finance, and Legal

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Motivated by building long-term relationships

  • 5-7 years of experience in a customer-facing role
  • Customer-focused, always aiming to provide maximum value
  • Excited by working in an evolving and solution-focused environment
  • Experienced in negotiating contract terms and overcoming pricing objections without direct guidance

Qualifications

  • Experience with MEDDIC and Command of the Message sales training
  • Involvement in community guilds and mentorship programs
  • Continuous professional development and product training
  • Participation in an employee stock purchase plan (ESPP)
  • Access to a 401(k) plan and match
  • Availability for remote work

Skills

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to negotiate and overcome pricing objections
  • Proficiency in identifying and addressing customer needs
