About the role

The Customer Side Leakage Technician role involves attending customer properties to investigate and identify customer-side water leaks. Responsibilities include inspecting internal and external plumbing systems, verifying meter readings, interpreting water network plans, schematics and technical drawings, explaining findings clearly and professionally to customers, and completing accurate reports.

Responsibilities

  • Attend customer properties to investigate and identify customer-side water leaks.
  • Carry out leak detection activities using appropriate methods and equipment.
  • Inspect internal and external plumbing systems to determine the source of leaks.
  • Verify and record water meter readings accurately.
  • Interpret water network plans, schematics and technical drawings.
  • Explain findings clearly and professionally to customers, providing advice on repair requirements.
  • Complete accurate reports and update company systems following each visit.
  • Plan and manage daily workloads and travel routes efficiently across Enfield and the surrounding areas.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools and equipment in good working order.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health and safety legislation, company procedures and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in leak detection, water networks, plumbing, utilities or a similar field-based technical role.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with customers.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, utility plans and schematics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage your own workload and meet daily performance targets.
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Good knowledge of Enfield and the surrounding road network to support efficient travel between appointments.
