Customer Service Specialist - Home Oxygen DME Services

Role Responsibilities

• Receives and generates requests from referral sources and patients to provide medical equipment and/or supplies to patients.
• Obtains and reviews the documentation within the medical record to determine payer qualifications are met for equipment and referrals.
• This position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• This person must have knowledge of insurance requirements and have the ability to determine medical justification through documentation to ensure proper reimbursement.
• This person will assist and help clients who come into the DME store or call in for assistance and services.
• This position will report to the DME Manager.
• Inbound and outbound calls to insurance companies.
• Handling patient inquires both on the phone and in-person.
• Confirming sales orders delivered for current month.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with medical billing would be beneficial, but not required.
• Candidates should have wonderful customer service experience.
• Candidate will also be required to effectively operate software necessary for the scope of this job description.
• Prior healthcare experience is beneficial.
• Knowledge of medical equipment and/or home oxygen services is beneficial.
• Able to learn and competently work with co-workers, referral sources and patients.
• Able to work with computer programs such as Health Link (EPIC) and Bright Tree software systems.
• Proficient in medical terminology and abbreviations would be beneficial.
• Previous experience with the Microsoft Office Suite software programs is beneficial.
