Customer Service Specialist
City of Edinburg is seeking a dedicated Customer Service Specialist to perform daily office tasks, including greeting callers in a friendly and professional manner to address their issues, concerns, or questions.
About the Role
As a Customer Service Specialist, you will answer a multi-line phone system within three rings, process requests effectively, and maintain a warm, professional demeanor. Your role is essential to the city, providing accurate account assistance, information, and referrals to appropriate services or resources. You will handle clerical and data entry duties, work with various software programs and telephone consoles, and assist with payroll functions, bookkeeping, accounting procedures, invoices, and purchase orders. You will also provide support to other divisions within the department as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalency (required).
- Community college, vocational, business, technical, or correspondence school certificates (preferred).
- One year of related work experience in customer relations (required).
- Three years of experience in a related field (preferred).
- Current valid Class "C" driver's license from the Texas Department of Public Safety.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) (required).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and strong teamwork abilities.
- Dependability and hands-on approach to work.
