About the role
The Customer Service Representative II is a key position supporting company goals of profitability, return on investment, inventory turnover, and accident prevention. This role involves processing customer parts and machine orders, researching order information, answering phones, and assisting customers with order and product questions to promote excellent customer service and maximize sales.
Responsibilities
- Focus on safety in all aspects of the job and company meetings.
- Provide prompt and courteous customer service by phone and in person.
- Process orders in accordance with company programs and policies.
- Make part or product suggestions based on product lines and applications.
- Take and enter orders accurately and promptly from customers.
- Research information and communicate with other departments to respond to customer inquiries.
- Provide product or part pricing information as requested.
- Track orders using UPS and motor freight tracking systems.
- Issue pick-ups for returns or rerouting as necessary.
- Promote special order programs to customers to maximize sales potential.
- Evaluate orders on special order holds.
- Review backorders and assign scheduled pick dates based on availability.
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED Certificate is required.
- 3+ years of customer service experience.
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong computer data entry, retrieval, and analysis skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong reasoning and good judgment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
- Ability to work overtime as needed, especially during peak business season.
