Customer Service Representative / Permit Tech

About the role

Under general supervision of the Assistant Finance Director, the Customer Service Representative/Permit Technician serves as a representative of the Utility Billing Department and Building Inspections. The position is responsible for greeting and assisting walk‑in customers, providing excellent customer service, receiving, entering, and reconciling daily cash payments, and providing technical support for Building Inspections.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist walk‑in customers with a focus on excellent service.
• Receive, enter, and reconcile daily cash payments.
• Provide technical support for Building Inspections.
• Represent the Utility Billing Department and Building Inspections in interactions with the public.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Class C Texas Driver's License.
• Preferred: cash‑handling experience.
• Preferred: 2 years of experience in an office environment.
• Preferred: bilingual ability.
