Responsibilities

  • Handle patient scheduling, appointments, and manage a multi-phone line system
  • Gather and manage new patient data; keep track of all patient referrals
  • Disseminate information to patients and act as a liaison between patients and physicians
  • Send and log all reports sent to doctors
  • Collect all payments and verify insurance coverage
  • Collect, open, and distribute mail to proper areas/people
  • Send benefits paperwork to billing companies
  • Handle all scheduling and ensuing communication
  • Answer phones, address questions from potential or current patients, and act as a patient liaison
  • Coordinate evaluations, re-evaluations, appointment reminders, and cancellations
  • Collect new patient intake information and track all clinic referrals
  • Fax reports to physicians and keep a log of incoming reports
  • Verify insurance, track insurance-covered visits, and collect copayments
  • Check mail and track Explanation of Benefits sent from mail/fax to the billing company
  • Communicate with the office manager and clinicians about scheduling and patient arrival

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED certificate)
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills; detail-oriented
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, integrity, and empathy toward patients in pain
