Customer Service Representative I
About the role
The Customer Service Representative I is responsible for handling customer interactions in a professional manner. They assist customers with inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions while maintaining standards for customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Answers/responds to phone calls
- Assist visitors
- Read and respond to customer emails
- Cashiering
- Processes payments for the city
- Helps to educate customers on utilities and city processes
- Issues service orders to send to other departments
- Handling and resolving customer issues promptly, aiming to provide a positive experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and office assistance techniques
- Thorough knowledge of business English, spelling and arithmetic
- Thorough knowledge of the organization and functions of the department and of general administrative policies and practices
- Ability to keep office records and to prepare accurate reports from file sources
- Ability to perform and organize work independently
- Ability to type and transcribe dictation at a reasonable rate of speed
- Skill in the operation of personal computer equipment and related office software
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public
- Possess exceptional listening skills
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Microsoft office skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 0 to 2 years of experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities and other competencies necessary for the position
Requirements
- Valid Florida Driver's License required
