Customer Service Representative
About the role
The Customer Service Representative serves as a key member of the Sales team, supporting customer satisfaction through accurate order management, invoicing, customer communication, and data administration. Reporting to the Co-CEO, Commercial who also serves as the Director of Sales, this role works closely with Account Managers and internal departments to ensure a seamless customer experience from order entry through delivery and invoicing.
Responsibilities
- Fulfills customer orders or upsells to increase annual sales revenue, including receiving orders, entering orders in the system, sourcing and procuring potato supply inventory, and serving as a liaison with plant managers and customers.
- Monitors/tracks customer orders from origination to customer receipt and creates plans for corrective action when bottlenecks are identified.
- Communicates accurately and timely with all customer stakeholders in written and verbal formats, with a strong emphasis on active listening.
- Mitigates risk for financials by continually reviewing accounts receivable and grower-returns, including report generation and researching customer payable procedures.
- Prepares and distributes reports or other data needed pertaining to sales and customer accounts to meet target dates of request.
- Maintains acceptable organization of work records to enable coworkers to serve as back up for all work duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support departmental and company goals, adapting to business needs with flexibility and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Two years of experience in customer service or sales career field.
- Microsoft Office Skills.
Work Environment
This position is approximately 75% sedentary, involving executing typical office related tasks, and 25% requires working in/around indoor and outdoor manufacturing and agricultural environments. The role requires the ability to occasionally ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and equipment, move into different positions, bend, stoop, squat, and kneel, and reach for and lift objects up to 25 pounds.
Physical activities may be performed in both indoor and outdoor environments, which could include low and high temperatures, precipitation and wind, noisy environments, potential exposure to chemicals/pesticides, dusty or poorly ventilated environments, and darkness/low light.
