Lynden Door Trucking is seeking a reliable, growth-oriented Customer Service Representative to deliver outstanding customer support, maintain accurate information, and collaborate with internal teams to drive company success.

About the role

This is an in-office, full-time position located in Lynden, WA (98264). The role serves as a primary point of contact for direct customers and freight brokers, coordinating load logistics and ensuring seamless communication across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a point of contact for direct customers and freight brokers.
  • Collaborate with Driver Supervisors to support a team of 20 to 30 drivers by coordinating load pickups, deliveries, and customer communications.
  • Communicate with Driver Supervisors to verify driver locations and provide timely load status updates.
  • Monitor active shipments and proactively update customers, brokers, shippers, and consignees.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, requests, and service issues.
  • Coordinate delivery appointments, jobsite details, and shipment updates for customers.
  • Identify freight opportunities and prepare quotes using load boards based on operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate shipment and customer information to support efficient operations.
  • Provide backup support for the Driver Supervisor as needed.
  • Ensure seamless customer coverage and communication throughout the workday.
  • Collaborate with operations, dispatch, sales, and customer service teams to ensure seamless service and timely communication.
  • Create freight bills and ensure all required shipping and supporting documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Work directly with customers to provide shipment tracking, equipment updates, and load status information.
  • Enter and maintain customer, shipment, and operational data accurately within company systems.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining customer profiles to support order entry, planning, dispatch, brokerage, and billing activities.
  • Provide cross-functional support and cover other Customer Service Representative duties during absences or off-shift periods.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of transportation schedules and operational workflows to effectively support customer and business needs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to efficient, customer-focused operations.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, account management, or client support is required.
  • Experience in transportation, logistics, trucking, or freight operations is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to following company policies and procedures.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively assist customers by phone and email.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and follow-through.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other business software applications.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with customers, drivers, and internal teams.
  • Positive, professional, and team-oriented with a flexible approach and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with customers, drivers, and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Quick learner with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to process information, make sound decisions, and adapt to changing priorities.

Skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word, as well as Google Sheets.
  • Comfortable using a variety of office technology, including PCs, mobile devices, VoIP phone systems, copiers, scanners, and printers.
  • Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), freight load boards, and shipment tracking tools preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize new software, systems, and technology platforms.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, daytime shift. Additional hours as needed.

Pay

Hourly wage from $24.00 to $29.50, depending on experience.

This is a safety-sensitive position contingent upon a pre-employment drug test, including marijuana. Must be 18 years of age to apply.
