Customer Service Rep–Gas & Electric

A professional services organization is seeking a Remote Customer Service Rep, Gas & Electric for a full-time, long-term temporary assignment supporting residential and commercial utility customers. This role is ideal for a dependable customer service professional who enjoys helping people, resolving account questions, and working in a fast-paced inbound call center environment. As a Customer Service Representative, you will assist customers with natural gas and electric service inquiries, billing questions, payment arrangements, service requests, and account updates. This opportunity offers the ability to work from home while being part of a structured, team-oriented environment with training, coaching, supportive leadership, and clear service procedures to help you succeed. Candidates must live within 40 miles of Canonsburg, PA, and be able to report onsite when remote work is not possible.
Responsibilities
- Answer a high volume of inbound customer calls in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner.
- Assist residential and commercial customers with billing questions, account inquiries, payment arrangements, and service-related requests.
- Process new service, transfers, disconnections, account updates, and other utility service transactions.
- Provide accurate information regarding natural gas and electric services, customer programs, company policies, and service procedures.
- Document customer interactions, account changes, and service requests accurately in company systems.
- Escalate complex issues, coordinate with internal departments, and support customers during outages or service interruptions.
