Customer Service Rep II

About the Role

As an Equine Customer Service Representative, you are responsible for generating new business opportunities, nurturing relationships with existing customers, and working directly with other sales representatives—both internally and externally—to contribute to the company’s growth. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about veterinary medicine and sales, with excellent communication skills, who enjoy working in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.

Schedule

This position is in-person, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST/EDT.

Responsibilities

• Customer Support
  • Develop strong working relationships across the business, with customers, and manufacturing partners.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and provide timely resolutions to ensure every interaction is positive and professional.
  • Communicate pertinent customer information to the outside sales representative or appropriate management.
  • Identify customer requirements and expectations to recommend specific products and/or solutions.
  • Build and maintain long-lasting relationships with customers and vendor representatives through excellent communication, follow-up, and support.
• Sales Support
  • Upgrade telephone orders.
  • Introduce and promote new products during calls.
  • Place outbound calls to existing customers to identify and suggest additional products, increasing sales and services.
• Administrative
  • Accurately process and ensure the accuracy of customer transactions in the order entry system, such as orders, quotes, and returns.
  • Maintain accurate customer and territory records, facility records, and document all customer interactions.
  • Generate reports and monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery.
  • Accurately maintain and ensure regulatory guidelines are met according to Company, State, and Federal policies.
  • Gain understanding of and adhere to Accounts Receivables policies and practices.
  • Verify price and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customer profitability profiles.
  • Multitask and work within multiple computer systems and communication platforms simultaneously.
  • Maintain current knowledge of company products, policies, and procedures.
  • Work independently and in a team environment.

Requirements

• Required Qualifications
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in inside sales, customer service, or a related role.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a customer-first attitude.
  • General computer proficiency, including knowledge of MS Office.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Equine experience.
  • Associate’s Degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in SAP or related ERP.

Working Conditions

• Physical Demands
  • Operate a computer or other office devices for the majority of the workday.
  • Occasionally move packages up to 10 pounds, such as office supplies or equipment.
  • Communicate with others in person, over the phone, and in writing.
  • Understand and effectively exchange accurate information with coworkers, customers, and vendors.
  • Read and interpret various electronic and written documents.
• Travel and On-Call
  • Minimal travel (10%) in a local area for sales ride-alongs or training opportunities.

Pay

The potential compensation range for this role is $18.85–$24.49 per hour. The final offer amount could exceed this range based on factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.
