About the Role

Responsible for responding to inquiries from policyholders, carriers, and/or account managers for information and assistance regarding cancellations and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, updates, and aids existing client policy accounts.
  • Manages, receives, and transfers inbound calls from current clients and brokers.
  • Answers questions about products, the company, and issues with accounts for clients and/or brokers.
  • Performs account maintenance, documents activities, and follows up to gather complete information including all subjectivities with the client and carrier when necessary.
  • Processes all endorsements, policy information, invoices, and payments and follows up if necessary to answer all questions and concerns.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned, including but not limited to processing LPR's, audits, cancellations, and billing.
  • Acts as liaison between clients and insurance carriers to resolve escalated complex service issues that require policy interpretation.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior insurance industry experience, preferred.

Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong time management and oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
  • Team player.

Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to sit and use hands. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
