Responsibilities
- Operate all store equipment.
- Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler.
- Prepare product and receive/process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and facility approximately daily.
- On-the-job training and orientation provided.
Requirements
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Verbal communication skills for processing orders over the phone and in person.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to make correct monetary change.
- Motor coordination for rapid and precise movements (e.g., entering orders via keyboard or touch screen).
Work Conditions
- Exposure to:
- Varying/adverse weather conditions when performing outside tasks (e.g., removing trash).
- In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in coolers to 90°F+ in work areas, with sudden temperature changes.
- Food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters (e.g., walk-in cooler).
- Hot surfaces/tools (ovens up to 500°F or higher), sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
- Sensory Requirements:
- Talking/hearing on the telephone.
- Near and mid-range vision for most tasks, depth perception, and ability to differentiate hot/cold surfaces.
- Temperaments:
- Direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone or with others under stress.
- Meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze/compile data, and make judgments/decisions.
Physical Requirements
- Standing: Most tasks performed standing; walking surfaces include ceramic tile/linoleum.
- Walking: Short distances/durations.
- Sitting: Paperwork completed at a desk or table.
- Lifting:
- Unload bulk deliveries (up to 50 lbs) using a hand truck; stack onto shelves up to 72" high.
- Carry 3-lb cans, 30-lb pizza sauce, or trays of dough (12 lbs per tray, 3 at a time).
- Pushing/Pulling: Move trays on dollies (force up to 7.5 lbs).
- Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs/ladder for maintenance or sign changes.
- Stooping/Bending:
- Forward bending at pizza assembly station (30–45 seconds continuously).
- Bending at front counter and when stocking ingredients.
- Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves or clean low areas.
- Reaching: Continuously up, down, and forward (e.g., oven controls, ingredients, cleaning).
- Hand Tasks:
- Eye-hand coordination essential; continuous use of hands for shaping dough, using pizza peel/cutter, assembling boxes, and handling tools.
- Frequent/forceful pinching (e.g., assembling cardboard boxes).
- Tools/Equipment: Pencils/pens, computers, telephones, calculators, TDD equipment, pizza cutter, pizza peel.
