Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment
• Stock ingredients from delivery area to storage, work area, and walk-in cooler
• Prepare product
• Receive and process telephone orders
• Clean equipment and facility daily
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork

• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders both over the phone and in person
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly (may use calculator)
• Must be able to make correct monetary change
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to rapidly and accurately make precise movements with speed
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen

Work Conditions

Exposure to:

• Varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions when removing trash and performing other outside tasks
• In-store temperatures ranging from 36°F in cooler to 90°F and above in some work areas, with sudden temperature changes
• Fumes from food odors and cornmeal dust
• Cramped quarters including walk-in cooler
• Hot surfaces/tools from oven up to 500°F or higher
• Sharp edges and moving mechanical parts

Sensory requirements:

• Talking and hearing on telephone
• Near and mid-range vision for most in-store tasks
• Depth perception
• Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces

• Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others
• Work under stress and meet strict quality control standards
• Deal with people, analyze and compile data, make judgments and decisions

Physical Demands

• Standing: Most tasks are performed from a standing position on ceramic tile or linoleum floors; work surfaces are between 36" and 48" high
• Walking: Generally in short distances for short durations
• Sitting: Paperwork is completed in an office at a desk or table
• Lifting: Bulk product deliveries (cases up to 50 lbs, dimensions up to 3' x 1.5') are unloaded using a hand truck and stacked onto shelves up to 72" high
• Carrying:
  • Large cans (3 lbs, 7 oz) from workstation to storage shelves
  • Pizza sauce (30 lbs) from storage room to front of store
  • Trays of pizza dough (12 lbs per tray, three at a time over short distances)
• Pushing: Trays on dollies (stack approximately 24"-30" high, requiring up to 7.5 lbs of force to push); trays may also be pulled
• Climbing: Infrequent use of stairs or ladder to change prices, wash walls, and perform maintenance
• Stooping/Bending:
  • Forward bending at the waist (30-45 seconds at a time, repeated continuously) at pizza assembly station and front counter
  • Bending when stocking ingredients
• Crouching/Squatting: Occasionally to stock shelves and clean low areas
• Reaching: Continuously in all directions (up, down, forward) for tasks such as:
  • Turning oven controls on/off
  • Changing prices on signs
  • Lifting/lowering objects to/from shelves
  • Scooping cornmeal from barrels
  • Washing dishes
  • Obtaining topping ingredients
  • Cleaning work surfaces
  • Answering phones
• Hand Tasks:
  • Eye-hand coordination essential; continuous use of hands during the day
  • Frequent use of one or both hands for shaping pizza dough (requiring forceful use of forearms and wrists)
  • Manipulating pizza peel, rolling cutter, and assembling cardboard pizza boxes (frequent/forceful pinching)
  • Grasping cans, phones, pizza cutters, pizza peels, and pizza boxes
